Diploma in Medical Imaging is a three-year program that prepares the graduate to be a professionally competent diagnostic radiographer. The development of curriculum balances between theoretical and practical knowledge in the university campus, campus labs and our 26 KPJ Specialist Hospitals with state-of-the-art facilities, with an up-to-date imaging modalities. This training program is hoped to empower the graduates to be highly competent in their clinical skills holistically.
Medical Imaging is concerned with diagnostic procedures, health screening and research, using sophisticated and ever-evolving technology of equipments, such as general radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasonography.
Medical images of the human body are produced, to aid diagnosis and treatment planning. Diagnostic radiographers are important players of the healthcare team, to deliver a sensitive and patient-centred service using these specialised equipment. A more specialised radiographers may work in different modalities such as fluoroscopy, mammography, nuclear medicine and interventional radiology. The prospect of medical imaging not only revolves in the clinical area, but expands to research, administration and education.
