Quantity surveying is not a new programme but, not many of us know what it actually is.
Take for instance the buildings we see around us, or even the house we live in. We never knew the process of how it was made. This is where quantity surveyors play a role. They are engaged to control the finances and the contractual administration of construction projects.
This is a challenging programme alongside Engineering and Architecture which leads to an interesting career.
Who should study Quantity Surveying?
Students with interest in buildings, finance, sustainability and technology are suitable to pursue this programme.
They will acquire the skills to manage the costs relating to building projects, and the calculation from the initial to the final figures. Student will also learn how to minimize costs and enhance value for money in the projects they handle and also deliver quality projects on time.
What will I learn?
This programme will furnish students with the combination of computing & quantifying, managerial skills and construction technologies including the legal aspects of construction.
The programme will not only focus on the measurement work for building construction but also the infrastructure work related to civil engineering works.
