Master of Construction Management facilitates the study of advanced project management and engineering techniques for the construction industry. The program prepares you to be in control of construction project management specifically in resources planning and risk assessment.

At the completion of the Master of Construction Management course, graduates will have an opportunity to gain advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of construction and infrastructure management principles, procurement and cost analysis. Entry requirements
Applicants should have a recognised bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, building, architecture, quantity surveying, construction management, real estate and other cognate engineering/technology disciplines, or other equivalent qualification.


English language requirements
English Language proficiency consistent with Swinburne policies for admission of local and international students to postgraduate courses as outlined below:

  • Obtain a minimum of IELTS overall band of 6.5 with no individual band below 6.0, or TOEFL (paper-based) minimum score of 5500 (with Test of Written English score of 5), or TOEFL (internet-based) minimum score of 79 with no individual band below 18
  • Successfully complete a first degree with English as the medium of instruction
  • Malaysian students: RM41,220 total
  • International students: RM50,400 total

The indicative course fees shown here applies to students studying on-campus in Malaysia for the relevant year only. They are based on a standard study load per year. However, please note that fees are assessed according to a student’s study load in each semester, and variation to study load will result in an adjustment to tuition fees. All fees are subject to annual review and may be adjusted.
Course structure and duration
The duration of study is 1.5 years full-time or equivalent part-time. Students will undergo three long semesters of 12 weeks and two short semesters of 6 weeks. Classes are normally held on weeknights and/or weekends.
