The Bachelor in Accounting and Finance (Hons) provide students with a specialised education in and understanding of the legal, business and social environments in which accountancy and finance operates. It also enables students to be conversant in the technical languages and practices of the accounting and finance sector in a market economy. These include measurement and disclosure in financial statements, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation and corporate finance.

It is ideal for those who are interested in either an accounting career or who wish to be financial specialists analysing business activities from a financial perspective.

Upon completion of UOW Malaysia KDU’s Bachelor in Accounting and Finance (Hons) programme, graduates will be granted exemptions from the following recognised professional bodies:
  • ACCA – Exempted from all 9 ACCA Fundamental papers
  • CPA Australia – Exempted from 6 Foundation level papers
  • CIMA – Exempted from 10 CIMA papers and to take the balance 6 papers to complete the professional qualification

GCE A Levels: 3 Ds

STPM: 3 C+ or CGPA 2.33

UEC: 5 Credits inclusive a Credit in Mathematics

Diploma: Pass with min. CGPA of 2.50

Foundation Studies: Pass with min. CGPA of 2.50

Any other qualifications deemed equivalent by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia (or as stated in the Document Senarai Nilai Taraf Kelayakan Akademik, Malaysian Qualifications Agency) :
Pass (Subject to review and approval of certified transcripts)


English Requirement
Local Student :
Band 3 in MUET


International Student :
Band 5.5 in IELTS; or a min score of 46 (IBT) or 454 (PBT) in TOEFL ; or score 42 and above for Pearson English Test


*If English language requirements are not fulfilled, additional English module(s) may be taken at UOW Malaysia KDU.

In addition to the above mentioned requirement, the student must have obtained a Credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.
