Interactive Multimedia Design is a career-oriented programme. Students are exposed to the latest concepts in the multimedia industry with the ability to gain employment in one of its key areas.
The creative multimedia industries increasingly require fresh creative employees who have knowledge in areas such as photography, audiovisual technology, screen production, screenwriting, animation, interactive media and post-production. Along with creative and technical skills, many employers, especially in smaller businesses, seek staff with generic business, management and communication skills that will be offered in this programme. The programme hones the students' technical abilities and aids in evolving their aesthetic maturity within the creative disciplines of design, media and art.
The programme focuses on interactive design for CD-ROM and DVD-ROM, web design, digital video and animation. It explores new and emerging media, and encompasses a diverse range of communication platforms for various audiences. The programme develops the students' creative and technological skills and most importantly, the ability to apply these skills to practical solutions and products. It places a great emphasis on coursework and the use of actual industry client briefs. As students progress, they develop a portfolio of their work and adopt a matured work culture that prepares them for immediate employment, or even for a term of higher study.
Our students possess a considerable edge by gaining experience in some of the leading multimedia companies in the region. It is a recurring trend that many of them are offered employment even before they graduate.
