UTAR's Bachelor of Nursing Programme is approved by the Malaysian Nursing Board and is nationally accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. This programme aims to equip students with a strong foundation in the principles, theories and practices of modern nursing. 

This programme provides tertiary education that creates graduates who are strongly knowledge-based with the ability to think critically, perform competently in relevant skills, adapt and innovate to challenges and opportunities in the nursing profession. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are eligible to sit for the Malaysian Nursing Board Examination to be licensed for practice as a Registered Nurse.

  • STPM with minimum CGPA 2.50
  • A-Level with minimum Grade C in 3 subjects
  • Unified Examination Certificate ( UEC ) with Grade B in 5 subjects
  • other equivalent qualification with CGPA 2.50 recognised by the Malaysian Government 
  • Any Diploma with CGPA 2.50 ( Credit transfer not allowed )
  • Foundation in Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman ( UTAR ) with minimum CGPA 2.50
  • Diploma In Nursing from recongnised institution by Malaysian Nursing Board with minimum two ( 2 ) years clinical working experience ( credit transfer allowed )

AND
  • Pass SPM/equivalent with
  • Mandatory credits in Bahasa Melayu* and Mathematics ( Elementary / Additional / Modern )
  • Either one ( 1 ) of the credits in General Science / Applied Science / Biology / Chemistry / Physics

AND
  • Credit in SPM English Language OR passed English Language in one of the following examinations :
  • Muet - Band 3
  • IELTS - Band 5.5
  • TOEFL ( Paper Based ) - Score of 515
  • TOEFL ( Computer based ) - Score of 215
  • TOEFL ( Internet based ) - Score of 80

AND
  • Pass Medical Examination and certified as healthy and medically fit, free from contagious diseases such as HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B&C, Mentally sound and not physically handicapped
