UCSI University’s Bachelor of Financial Economics (Hons) is structured to equip students with sound knowledge of financial and economic analyses. Students are trained to put their ideas to practice throughout the programme, which boasts breadth and depth in financial economics.

Assessments
Learners will be assessed with a combination of examinations, projects and assignments. In the final year, students are required to complete a dissertation course.
 
Students will also have to complete internships to develop career-related skills that will mould them into effective practitioners.

Qualification: UCSI Foundation year
Academic Requirements: Minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00, and pass SPM (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics and pass in English.
 
Qualification: STPM
Academic Requirements: Minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.30) in any 2 subjects; and pass SPM (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics and pass in English.
 
Qualification: A-levels
Academic Requirements: Minimum 2 principals (E)
 
Qualification: UEC
Academic Requirements: Minimum 5 credits (B6) including Mathematics and English
or
Minimum 5 credits (B6) and pass in Mathematics and English
 
Qualification: National Matriculation/Foundation

Qualification: International Baccalaureate (IB)
Academic Requirements: Minimum score of 26 points in 6 subjects
 
Qualification: Canadian Pre-U
Academic Requirements: Minimum average of 60% in 6 subjects
 
Qualification: SAM / AUSMAT
Academic Requirements: Minimum average of 60% in 5 subjects

Qualification: Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM/A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency
Academic Requirements: Minimum overall average of 60%

Qualification: Any qualification equivalent to Diploma in Finance, Banking, Insurance or related field (Level 4, MQF)
Academic Requirements: Minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00

Qualification: Other equivalent qualifications
Academic Requirements: To be reviewed by the faculty on a case-to-case basis

Note (Source: Finance Program Standard):
The credit requirement for Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level for the candidate with STPM or Matriculation/Foundation qualification can be waived should the qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with equivalent/higher achievement.

English Language Requirements
For local student:
  • A distinction (A+, A, or A-) in the English Language subject at SPM/UEC level. If the English Language requirement is not met, student may be required to take an additional English module(s) prior to or concurrently with the undergraduate program based on the University’s decision.
For international student:
  • At least IELTS Band 6 or its equivalents (A compulsory requirement from MQA)
