Foundation in Science (FIS) is a comprehensive pre-university programme which aims in providing students with the scientific knowledge as a preparation in pursuing their academic path in the field of science and technology at higher education level. Our programme is designed to offer an excellent and worthy pre-university education that will augment the relevant pathway towards achieving industry related careers specifically in the field of Medicine, Physiotherapy, Allied Health Science and Healthcare Management as well as in Business Management and Information Technology. This programme has attained full accreditation status by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) in 2009.

SPM or equivalent

For academic leading to Medicine (after completing FIS); Pass SPM/O-Level with minimum 5 grade B in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) AND other subject; or equivalent qualifications based on MQA/MMC guidelines.

For academic leading to other Bachelor Degree (after completing FIS); Pass SPM/O-Level with minimum 5 credits in Mathematics, TWO Science subjects and TWO other subjects; or equivalent qualifications based on MQA guidelines.

*International students may pursue FIS at AMU with equivalent academic qualification.
